How It Works
The generator is built to never hand you a broken run. Here's what happens under the hood.
1. Pick your categories
Toggle the rule categories you want in the pool. Map and Base Difficulty are single-pick; the rest each contribute one rule to the run.
2. Choose solo or team
Solo mode hides team-only rules like pairing, van duty and "investigate alone". Switch to Team to bring them back.
3. Generate
Every rule is checked against the others, the map size and the difficulty, so you never get a contradictory or impossible run.
4. Lock & re-roll
Keep the rules you like by locking them, then re-roll everything else until the run feels right.
5. Share
The whole challenge is encoded into a link. Send it to friends or a streamer - open it and the exact run loads back up.
Each rule carries a weight from 1 (minor inconvenience) to 5 (run-defining). The rating averages the weight of the active rules. Map size and base difficulty show as separate badges - they don't distort the rule score.
Some rules can't coexist - you can't be told to "investigate alone" and "stay within 5m of a teammate" in the same run. The generator knows every such pairing and skips any rule that would clash with one already in your challenge. It also resolves equipment-specific rules first (so "No {equipment}" picking Incense won't appear next to "Can't use Incense to stop a hunt"), and suppresses Cursed Possession rules on Insanity, where no cursed item spawns.
